Big Walk Day 3 – in the snow

Date: March 17, 2018

It has been snowing most of the morning here in London and our pilgrims, now in the Chatham area, will also be experiencing freezing temperatures.

At Southwark Cathedral they were given this blessing prayer – we could all pray this for them now and in the later stages of their walk.

O God, who brought your servant Abraham out of the land of the Chaldeans, protecting him in his wanderings,
who guided the Hebrew people across the desert
we ask that you watch over your servants, as they walk in your Name the Pilgrims’ Way to Canterbury.
Be their companion on the walk.
Their guide at the crossroads
Their strength in weariness
Their comfort in discouragements
Their shelter on the path.
That with your guidance, they may arrive safe and sound at the end of the road,
and enriched with grace and virtue
May return safely to their homes filled with lasting joy.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
