Holy Week and Easter 2018 Bulletin

We are now into Holy Week. Yesterday we held a procession around Wandsworth Common for Palm Sunday before the beginning of our main service. Today we are off to the theatre at St Mary’s Balham to see “The Devil’s Passion”. Tomorrow there will be a Eucharist in the evening (as well as the usual Morning Prayer and 11:00am Eucharist earlier in the day) as part of our special programming for Holy Week. Here is our timetable for the coming week:

(Monday 26th March 7:30pm: join us at “The Devil’s Passion” play at St Mary and St John,  Balham. http://stmarybalham.org.uk/)

Tuesday 27th March and Wednesday 28th March at 8:00pm: Eucharist in church

Maundy Thursday 29th March 7:00pm: a meal at 7:00pm and Eucharist at 8:00pm in Parish Hall to commemorate the Last Supper; followed by Vigil at the Altar of Repose in church.

Good Friday 30th March: join the Churches Together Walk of Witness 10:15am to 12:15am in Balham and Upper Tooting

Good Friday 30th March: two hours’ devotions at church: Stations of the Cross 1:00pm to 2:00pm; Communion from Reserved Sacrament 2:00pm to 3:00pm

(Holy Saturday 31st March: no services at St Mary Magdalene; we are welcome to join the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening at St Mary and St John, Balham http://stmarybalham.org.uk/)

Easter Sunday 1st April: Easter Vigil Dawn Service at 6:00am; the first Eucharist of Easter (followed by breakfast together in the hall).

Easter Sunday 1st April: main Easter Eucharist 10:00am; our main service of the day at the usual time

Easter Sunday 1st April: Evening Service 6:30pm; our contemplative said service with Eucharist.

(Easter Monday 2nd April: church closed, no morning prayer service.)

Easter Tuesday 3rd April onwards: church open for morning prayer and other services as usual.
