HOLY WEEK & EASTER 2018

Come and celebrate Easter with us at the church of St Mary Magdalene, Wandsworth Common. This year Holy Week runs from Palm Sunday on 25th March to Easter Sunday on 1st April, and we have services for most of those days. Whether you are looking for our main service on Easter Sunday (at 10:00am) or to try a new devotion for some other day of Holy Week, you are very welcome at any time.

Palm Sunday 25th March 9:15am: Palm procession around Wandsworth Common, starting from Caffe Nero at 9:15am; Eucharist in church at 10:00am. If possible, please wear something red!

(Monday 26th March 7:30pm: join us at “The Devil’s Passion” play at St Mary and St John,  Balham. http://stmarybalham.org.uk/)

Tuesday 27th March and Wednesday 28th March at 8:00pm: Eucharist in church

Maundy Thursday 29th March 7:00pm: a meal at 7:00pm and Eucharist at 8:00pm in Parish Hall to commemorate the Last Supper; followed by Vigil at the Altar of Repose in church.

Good Friday 30th March: join the Churches Together Walk of Witness 10:15am to 12:15am in Balham and Upper Tooting

Good Friday 30th March: two hours’ devotions at church: Stations of the Cross 1:00pm to 2:00pm; Communion from Reserved Sacrament 2:00pm to 3:00pm

(Holy Saturday 31st March: no services at St Mary Magdalene; we are welcome to join the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening at St Mary and St John, Balham http://stmarybalham.org.uk/)

Easter Sunday 1st April: Easter Vigil Dawn Service at 6:00am; the first Eucharist of Easter (followed by breakfast together in the hall).

Easter Sunday 1st April: main Easter Eucharist 10:00am; our main service of the day at the usual time

Easter Sunday 1st April: Evening Service 6:30pm; our contemplative said service with Eucharist.

(Easter Monday 2nd April: church closed, no morning prayer service.)

Easter Tuesday 3rd April onwards: church open for morning prayer and other services as usual.
