Mar 17th latest covid19 advice – church open for private prayer on Sunday but NO Eucharist service

Date: March 17, 2020

Today (March 17th) the Archbishops of Canterbury and York asked churches to suspend public worship in light of the profound concern about Covid19. The Archbishops asked that parish churches provide opportunity for community prayer.

To this end, our planned Mothering Sunday service this Sunday will not go ahead. But the church will be open from 10-11.30am for private prayer.

You may like to come in and light a candle in thanksgiving for your mother. To pray by walking our ‘prayer labyrinth’.  Daffodils will also be available as a gift for the ‘mothers’ in our lives.

It is also an opportunity to drop-off much needed items for the Foodbank whose work is more vital than ever in these days when shelves are empty due to panic-buying.

The church will be open from Mon-Fri at 9.30-10am when again you can come in for prayer or drop off Foodbank items.

We will keep this page updated with news week by week.

Please keep our community, our nation and our world in your prayers at this very challenging time.
