We welcome all people to our church, wherever you are on your journey of faith. We encourage reflection, question and discussion to help us explore and deepen our Christian faith. We strive to reach the needs of our congregation, the local community and beyond.

Pastoral and Teaching

The teaching and nurture which our church provides is vital, and we would welcome additional volunteers to help us.

Junior Church – with up to 40 children attending every Sunday, divided into four age groups, we would be delighted to grow the team that develops the faith of our children. If you’d like to get involved, please contact  info@smmwandsworth.org.uk

Baptism Team – we meet parents as they prepare for this event, attend the baptism and then act as a contact point for the parents in the church community. Could you help us? After a short in-house training course, we’d be asking for a commitment of 2-3 hours for each baptism, and then to keep an eye out for the family around the parish. Please contact info@smmwandsworth.org.uk

Teaching – we will be developing an extensive programme over the next few years to help us all grow in faith. We will need volunteers to help us with the preparation and delivery of the teaching programme. This will require a greater commitment, but will be on a course by course basis (eg the Lent study course). If you could help us, please contact info@smmwandsworth.org.uk

Coffee team – we believe we are a sociable and friendly church, and meet for coffee and a chat after our Sunday morning service. Could you spare an hour a month to join the team, either as ‘front of house’ or behind the scenes or even to bake a cake? Please contact info@smmwandsworth.org.uk

Other ideas for volunteering?

All faith communities should have fun and at St Mary Magdalene, we enjoy our social calendar from our Christmas fair, to our Lent lunches, to our quiz night, our jumble sales and more. If you have ideas of other things we could do and would like to volunteer, please contact info@smmwandsworth.org.uk
