We welcome all people to our church, wherever you are on your journey of faith. We encourage reflection, question and discussion to help us explore and deepen our Christian faith. We strive to reach the needs of our congregation, the local community and beyond.

Thy Kingdom Come: Ten Days of Prayer 10th-20th May 2018

Date: May 9, 2018

You may have seen a banner on the railings outside our church: for ten days in May we are going to “Try Praying”! That does not mean we don’t pray already (in fact you are welcome to join us for Morning Prayer at 9:30 every weekday as well as for our Sunday Services) but that we are opening up our church more and encouraging people to come in and also to try praying at home or anywhere.

Each weekday the church will be open for Morning Prayer at 9:30 to 9:50am as usual and will then remain open until 10:45am. There will be 8 special “stations” for prayer – inspiring installations where you may stop for a while and focus on a different part of the Lord’s Prayer. There are booklets about ways to try praying anywhere, anytime, with a week of different suggestions, inspirational quotations and activities.

This programme is part of a wider church event called “Thy Kingdom Come” which is now in its second year of running, and is spreading from the Church of England to other churches. For more details of this initiative see the website for the Church of England.
