New to Church?

What’s the best service for me?

Our 10am Sunday service is a great way to make a start. You’ll get a warm welcome, be given everything you need to join in with the service and then hopefully stay on for coffee and chatting. Services usually last for an hour and a quarter.

Find out about our other services here.

What if I bring my children?

Children are welcome to stay in church with you during any of our services. However, at the 10am service there’s lots of fun to be had in Junior Church where they can take part in activities suitable for their age group – from 3yrs to 11+.

Children go into Junior Church when you arrive and are brought back into church to join you for communion.

There is also a parent and child room for babies and toddlers where you can take them and stay with them if they need changing or find the service a bit much!

Do I have to join in?

It’s entirely up to you. Some people dive right in while others like to take a few visits to get into the way things run, then gradually join in as they feel comfortable. Whatever is best for you is fine with us and everyone around you.

Should I dress up?

Come as you are and wear what feels right. We are a congregation with lots of different styles – so no expected dress code!

What if I get things wrong?

You won’t! Your service book will tell you exactly what you do throughout the service. When to stand, sit, join in with a hymn – everything! Your pew sheet will feature all the readings you’ll hear and let you know hymn numbers. It’s all there for you.

Is there a collection?

Yes there is a moment in the service when we bring round offertory bags to collect donations towards keeping our church running. Amount is entirely up to you. Drop cash into the bag or fill in a yellow gift-aid envelope on your pew. If you prefer you could simply tap your debit card on our new contactless giving terminal near the door.

I’ve got lots more questions!

Then catch the vicar after the service, check out the who’s who on the website or drop the church an email and someone will get back to you.
