There’s no better way to truly feel part of a church community than pitching in and helping out. No skills required, just enthusiasmand a desire to serve.
There's lots to help with on Sundays to make sure everyone feels welcome and all runs smoothly.
From handing out books, greeting visitors, operating the sound system, caring for church linens, being a server, leading Junior church, taking the collection and serving coffee – our team does a truly great job!

Under the inspirational leadership of our Music Director Barry Holden, our choir welcomes you to come and enhance the worship of God at St Mary Magdalene.

Flowers, Cleaning and Maintenance
Behind the scenes a great deal of work goes on to maintain and beautify the church.
Do you have a love of flowers? Why not join the Flower team? No experience necessary and support given where needed.
The Cleaning team 'the Marigolds' and the maintenance team are always on the lookout for new members too. I
t's a great way to get to know people! Please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
So what’s a home group?
Put simply, they’re small groups of around 6-10 people who get together – usually in someone’s home or a local coffee shop – to grow their relationship with God through bible study and lively discussion.
Each group is diverse and engaging, setting its own format and time to meet. Friendship and refreshments are guaranteed!
To join a Home Group contact email@example.com.
All that happens at St Mary Magdalene is made possible by those who pray, serve and give financially to the work of the church. Please read on for details of how to give.
Your Giving Counts
In the last year, this has never been so true. When the UK went into Lockdown in March 2020, we lost 60% of our income overnight with no Church services and no Hall bookings.
But your generosity in one-off donations and increases in your regular giving (plus paring back our expenditure wherever we could) has enabled us to weather the storm.
With the help of grants from the Lottery, Wandsworth Council, Viridor-Credits and AllChurches Trust plus church fundraising, we've also fulfilled the dream of installing accessible facilities (WC's and a teapoint) in church.
But there's so much we still need to do - both in replenishing lost lockdown income and also leading the way in re-energising community life as lockdown eases. Supporting those who have been isolated, those struggling with their mental health - as well as welcoming families, children and teens, reviving our wonderful music, further developing our buildings for community use and so much more....
Thank you for your generosity.
